|
On verra bien. Je vais envoyer le blog a quelques amis de la FRQ, je te copierai, feel free to send it to anyone else. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Memo from Chris Assmus
|
Members of the AARQ and the Quebec Rugby Community,
The end of August, 2011 has marked the end of my time in Quebec for the foreseeable and the beginning of my time in British Columbia. I have made the decision to relocate to Vancouver Island in accordance with the best possible personal, professional, and rugby opportunities that have and will present themselves. The latter is the thirdmost significant factor in my decision.
It is with humility and gratitude for my time spent with the AARQ and the FRQ that I leave the Quebec rugby community. As I look back on my 5 years of refereeing and being a part of rugby in Quebec, it has become clear that rugby in the province has turned the corner of development and is on is way to taking up an eventual place as a region of rugby strength within Canada.
The AARQ has been instrumental in my development as a referee climbing the ranks with Canada, and perhaps one day beyond. It is from the guidance of the great rugby people within the society that I have adopted the core values of humility, tenacity, and ongoing dedication to improvement. These values have laid the framework of the success of my refereeing endeavours thus far, and will continue to be the fundamental basis of my approach to new opportunities.
In addition to the friends and mentors I have within the AARQ, I have also been the beneficiary of the friendship and experience (in both rugby and life skills) of members of the Quebec rugby community in general. Many coaches, players, managers, administrators and club members have taken the time to provide me with feedback and guidance. These same people put up with the many growing pains of a young referee coming through the provincial ranks.
Going forward, I intend to make use of the experience I have gained as a referee and member of the Quebec rugby community in seizing every opportunity I can in British Columbia. It is my goal that the continuation of my refereeing career reflects the entirety of the time, effort, and resources invested in me by the AARQ and Quebec rugby community.
Yours in rugby & friendship,
Chris Assmus
